My desire is to breathe life into traditional portraiture, and create memories that will last a lifetime.
My photography sessions are artfully curated to produce beautiful, modern, Alaskan portraits. Designed and inspired by the movement, life, and energy our family and loved ones bring us. These sessions are all photographed outside in the beautiful, raw landscapes that I call home. I work with both local Alaskans and family’s visiting our great state on their trip of a lifetime. These sessions are all purposed with a vision to capture the love and connection that brings us so much meaning. These session are designed for both human and furry families.
Please contact me for more information on booking your Alaska photography session. These sessions should be booked as far in advance as possible, to take advantage of our fast and fleeting summers. Please also keep in mind that fall sessions can be chilly, so please plan accordingly when choosing the time of year that will be best suited to the age of your children.
All session are outdoors and on location. I live in Girdwood, Alaska (30 minutes South of Anchorage) and book all my client sessions in the nearby area. Most of the locations in my guide are between Potters Marsh (just outside Anchorage) and Turnagain Pass (20min South of Girdwood). I have a location guide that I send to all my clients, so we can choose the perfect spot for your Alaskan portraits. I will also book sessions outside of this travel area, but these sessions would incur an additional travel fee (Seward, Hatchers Pass, Homer).
What you wear on the day of your session is important. I help my clients select clothing that will work together and produce lovely movement within their photographs. I have a clothing guide that I send out to all my booked clients well in advance of their session, so they have plenty of time to make selections.
My photography sessions are a mix of directed portraits and candid moments. I provide gentle direction to all my clients, to create and shape moments that can be captured on digital film. I do not expect any of my clients to naturally know what to do in front of a camera, as none of us our models. Clients find my methods to be relaxed, while giving them the confidence to look their best. By the end of the session, we will be the best of friends.
“We never know the love of a parent till we become parents ourselves.”
Fur babies hold a special place in my heart, and it is an honor for me to capture these photographs for you. I can photograph dogs in all shapes and sizes, with all personalities, and different energy levels. There are no requirements for pet obedience to book a session with me, although if they know how to sit and stay that is a big plus. I use a combination of your dogs favorite treats and toys to mold and shape your playful companions into cooperating. All I ask is that you arrive ready to have fun. I always try and make room in my schedule for last minute, end of life sessions.
I make myself available to help you curate a wardrobe and style for your photo session, well before your actual scheduled date. On the day of your session I will start with classically posed portraits to help everyone ease into the family photo session. After the posed portraits are captured we will relax into a session that is focused around candid, authentic moments and emotions. I encourage all my families to think of their family photo session as a time to make new memories together, be true to yourself, and enjoy being outside surrounded by spectacular Alaskan scenery.
Please get in touch as early as possible when scheduling maternity photos. It will give use time to discuss wardrobe (custom dresses can take 4-6 weeks to arrive). I have a moderate selection of studio owned maternity dresses that I make available to all my clients, a lot of what you see in my maternity portfolio are studio owned garments. I prefer to schedule maternity clients at least 1 month before your due date to stay ahead of possible early deliveries and other unknowns.
